EMERRE & HATHAWAY MEN’S POVERTY BAY OPEN SEPTEMBER 24-26, 2026

Greetings golfers,

The process of taking entries for the 2026 Emerre & Hathaway Men’s Open Golf Tournament here at Awapuni Links in Gisborne will begin on Monday, May 11, at 8.00am.

Most of you will by now be familiar with our two-tiered entry system where we give our own club and district golfers the first opportunity to enter before throwing the event open to the rest of the country.

In practice this has worked really well in allowing us to get a mix of around 50/50 locals and visitors.  So, from Monday May 11 to Sunday May 24 we will be taking entries from Poverty Bay Golf Club and Tairawhiti Association club members only.

Please do not try to enter before 8.00am on Monday 11. The Early Bird Entry Fee is $180.00.  If you enter after May 24, you will pay the full fee of $200.

Entries will open for golfers from other districts from 8:00am on Monday, May 25.

There is a maximum of 112 entries for this event. For those wondering, the Club has decided NOT to change the timing of the Men’s Open. The tournament will continue to be held in September each year, in keeping with long-standing tradition.
