Welcome to the 2026 Emerre & Hathaway Poverty Bay Women’s Open at Awapuni Links. We’re looking forward to hosting players from around New Zealand for two days of competitive golf, great hospitality, and one of the country’s most unique links experiences.
This year’s event will again feature three tournament formats across matchplay and sections, with a maximum field size of 111 players.
We will also be using the alternate course layout, in line with the Men’s Open later in the week. This setup keeps the starting tees close together and helps the tournament run more smoothly across both days.
Tournament Formats 54 Hole Matchplay Championship
- 3 rounds of matchplay
- 6 divisions of 8 players
- Maximum field: 48 players
- Maximum playing handicap: 36
- Entry Fee: $150
36 Hole Stableford
- 2 x 18 hole stableford rounds
- 3 divisions
- Maximum field: 48 players
- Entry Fee: $130
18 Hole Stableford
- 2 x 9 hole stableford rounds
- Maximum field: 15 players
- Entry Fee: $100
Please note: stableford section sizes may be adjusted slightly depending on entry numbers to help maximise the field and accommodate players where possible.

Entry Information
This tournament is open to amateur female golfers aged 16 years and over who hold a current World Handicap System handicap and are financial members of a golf club.
Entries are accepted on a first paid basis within each section. Payment confirms your place in the field. Once a section is full, a reserves list will be created and adjustments between sections may be considered where possible.
Entry deadline:
Friday September 4, 2026 - 5:00pm
Refunds will only be issued where scratching is received at least 48 hours before the commencement of the tournament.
